The 6.0 LQ9 was used in GM trucks and SUV applications from 2001-2005. LQ engines use a cast iron block and displace 6.0 liters with a 4.0-inch bore and lower 10.5:1 compression

The LS2 replaced the LS1 in 2005-2007 Corvettes and GTOs.  The bore was increased to 4.0 inches and it displaces 6.0 liters.  Other improvements were high flow intake manifolds and a 90 mm throttle body as well as increased 10.9:1 compression.  The LS2 retained the cathedral port LS6 cylinder heads.
